Summer Course

The course adopts the Western creative ideas and modes of study to encourage students to break the shackles of traditional arts framework and explore different art media to express their own self, their very own ways of expression and thinking. Through a variety of art and design projects to meet the individuals’ needs, students experience diverse fields in art and design.

 

Subject areas include:

Western Creative Fashion Design

Western Creative Graphic Design

Western Creative 3D Design

Western Creative Fine Art

(Students can choose more than one subject area.)

 

By means of a structured programme of study, we aim to:

Allow students to be familiar with the creative process in the world of Western art and design

Prepare portfolio in order to apply for the world's leading art and design institutions

Promote independent creative thinking and problem solving ability

 

Tutors’ Profile:
With the help from University of the Arts London, the tutors chosen are either graduates from the University of the Arts London, professional tutors abroad or practicing artists and designers in the industry.

They include:

Mr. Stephen Sibthorpe        Academic Head at London Arts Academy

Over the last 11 years, he has worked in a variety of schools in London, Peru, Colombia and India as the head of department and head of school. His main role in the Academy is to coordinate our intensive art programmes, encourage students to be creative in their artwork, enhance their understanding and knowledge in art and design and assist them to adapt to art and design curriculum abroad.

 

Ms. Yusiki Lam                    Academic coordinator at London Arts Academy

Graduated in BA (Hons) Graphic Design, Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, University of the Arts London. She has more than 5 years of working experience in graphic design field in different countries, such as Hong Kong, Australia, Italy and London.

 

 

Target Students:

Students who are interested in art and design or wish to make further improvement on the quality of their portfolio.

English and Cantonese

6 July to 4 September 2009 (specific enrolment date can be considered on individual basis)

 

Teaching Hours:

10:00am to 1:00pm; 2:30pm to 5:30pm;

Monday to Friday

The summer course emphasises on individual’s research, development and experiment of ideas. Please note that some projects span 2 weeks.
